Happy 2nd Birthday Abby!!

We had a great day celebrating Abby's birthday. She got lots of Winnie the Pooh decorations and lots of helium balloons. She loved it. She also enjoyed a new art desk and basically got to do whatever she wanted. The little chair for the desk is a little big for her so she sits in it and says "Push" so you push her up to the desk. Her nap was only about an hour so she was exhausted by the end of the day. Our friend Steph came over to enjoy the Baskin Robbins cake. Dad showed her how to play with the big bouncy balls. Luckily there was more than one so they didn't have to share.
Abby had also gotten some toys golf club sets from her dad last week. It has three balls and three golf clubs. She passes one of each out to each of us and we make a lot of noise hitting the ball with the club. She was nice enough to try the club on my head. After grabbed the club from her she said "Hurt Mommy". Yes that does hurt. She thought to try it out on Dad but he was quicker than mom and saw it coming. Crazy kid.
The 4th, we went to our hometown firework show. This was their 3rd year of doing it. Abby didn't cry like last year but was a little scared. She might have just been pulling my leg. Dad said she was smiling at him while sounding scared to me.
A couple weeks ago, I found out I have gestational diabetes. That was a shock and has been quite a bit to get used to. I have to watch my carbohydrates and have designated amounts for my 3 meals and 3 snacks a day. It was hard to change on how to listen to my body. I cried most days for the first week but the second week is doing better. I don't like to stick my fingers to check my blood glucose but will do what I have to. I was glad to hear that I didn't need insulin injections. They said I had a ways to go and we'd just have to see. I have started exercising again but keeping it in balance with the high blood pressure. Nothing like taking a simple glucose test to take you from normal pregnancy to high risk. I will be getting weekly doctor visit's and ultrasounds. Hopefully everything goes okay. Thanks to Dad for being so helpful with the new diet and finding foods that I can still eat. I never thought I had cravings in pregnancy until they started limiting what I could eat.

We're sending you positive thoughts on "coping(??)" with the gestational diabetes, Sher.

We love you!
