Dad had his bad days in the last blogs so I thought I should have mine this time. (Not really but it happened that way.) Last Wednesday, I was trying to make my Mom's lasagna. I was slicing onions on the onion slicer and wasn't using the guard. And you can guess what happened. Yes I tried to slice my middle finger on my right hand in half. I knew the instant it happened that it would start bleeding. I called for some friends to come over. I couldn't get it to stop bleeding of course. After running it under water for ten minutes and no stopping. I called 911. Our friend came first and got it bandaged. It bleed through the bandages as we waited for the paramedics. I was a little shocked when 2 paramedics and 5 people from the fire department all showed up along with the neighbor lady. I really just wanted some advise on how to get the bleeding to stop. When they looked at the bleeding had stopped so I didn't go to the hospital. Plus I knew I was going to the doctor's in the morning anyways and I'd have them look at it. The next morning the doctor had the nurse glue it together and I was good to go. It was very sore for while. I am able to type with it again so that is good and it seems to be healing nicely.
Then this weekend after doing a load of laundry I went downstairs to notice water on the pantry floor. I thought it was coming from the wall but it was coming from our drain and flooding part of our basement. Come to find out our septic was full and collapsed. Yeah that means we need a new septic tank put in. Oh the fun of owning a home. I was able to save everything in the basement. I'm still trying to get the carpet to dry out. What a pain. So hopefully things will start to turn around. I think Dad and I have had enough bad days.
