The Life of Abby

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Abby and I have had a mild cold this week. A sore throat, snot and a little cough. Not too bad compared to coworkers with the flu, vomitting and diarhea. We went to some garage sales yesterday and to the mall. I picked out some new glasses and Abby played in the playground. When I went to get Abby this morning she had removed her diaper and it was poopy. YUCK!! She got a bath first thing and I did a load of laundry. The fun continues. The picture is when Abby kicked me out of Dad's chair so she could read a magazine. She has been saying "Double, Y, Z" for the alphabet (W, Y, Z we skip X). She is also saying "Two, tee, bour, bive"

The Easter bunny came with candy, a chocolate bunny, bubbles, an easter egg hunt along with other goodies. She sure had fun.

One more picture of Abby moving dirt from one hole to another. Kept her entertained for awhile.

We dyed some eggs for easter. All solid colors but that was fine because she seemed to have fun. I'm sure glad the eggs were hard boiled because I think all of them are broken. We also went outside for an hour and half today. We took a walk in the woods and fed the fish. Abby has been missing Dad since he's been gone. We finally figured out the key to going to sleep at night was to say good night to Dad right before going to bed. The video is of Abby enjoying the easter card from Grandma and Grandpa. She watched it over and over again and then wanted to watch the video I took of her over and over again. Work was pretty crazy this week and I had high blood pressure when I went to the doctor's. They asked what caused it. I said other than the 2 hours of waiting for the doctor. I bought a blood pressure monitor for at home and surprise surprise it is great at home. I will make all my appointments for first thing in the morning to avoid that again. Happy Easter everyone.

Abby and I got up and went grocery shopping this morning. She got to see the Easter bunny. She was very interested in this creature but thought it was pretty good that he gave her candy. Now she is napping but she has been running around like always. I was yelling at the dog the other day saying "Yukon Come". Now Abby says "Puppy dumb". I know what she is trying to say but it sure sounds funny when she says that. She also says "yock" for sock. I notice her using more sentences. I told her to stay on the porch so now she says "on da porch". She also likes to say the number 2. She has taken a interest in potty training again since we got some big girl underwear. That or she just likes to run around the house taking off her clothes like normal.

Abby and I are just hanging out at home today. Getting some laundry done and getting a grocery list together. Not too much else going on. We have gotten to talk to Dad a couple times on webcam and Abby really likes that. She also got a bath after a messy lunch.

Abby was drawing and painting today. Color wonder is a great thing. I can't image what the house would look like without it. She has been all over the place today. Now she is running laps downstairs. She talked like crazy to Daddy and grandma on the phone. Of course no one knows what she is saying but she lets them know all about it.

We enjoyed having Dad home. As most of you are aware, Abby will be getting a little sibling in September. Poor kid (and Dad) get to deal with my mood swings, tireness and weak stomach. We went to the St. Louis Blues hockey game for our anniversary. Abby got an official practice puck and official game puck from the game. Dad was pretty excited for his daughter. The Blues won and we got to see a couple fights. They sure put on a show for us.
Dad has been busy working this time home with us and family. He had more gravel put on the driveway and filled in our lack of yard in the front thanks to Yukon. We started potty training Abby. It has been slow going but I hope it I stick with it, it'll pay off in the end. Dad was supposed to go back to work but with St. Louis getting 8 inches of snow, his flight got canceled and we get him for another night.
Funny story: Matt was outside on the porch and he or Charles forgot to latch the screen door so I yelled from the kitchen "Matt Door!!". Abby has been known to escape if it isn't latched. Now whenever Abby going downstairs she repeats everytime "Matt. Door.". Boy am I glad I didn't say anything I didn't want repeated. I will watch what I yell because that little girl is not forgetting that phrase.
