The Life of Abby

Abby and I got some errands done today. We made it to the bank and got Abby's pictures taken. Then Steph came to watch Abby so Kelli and I could go see Harry Potter. I can't wait to read the book. Abby enjoyed playing with Steph though she took a 2 hour nap so didn't have too much play time. We were trying to get her to smile for her pictures and every time we tried to get her attention, she would just imitate us instead of smile. She got some outdoor pictures done. The photographer wanted to take some pictures by the pond. I said it wasn't a good idea unless you want her in the pond. The bottom two molars are coming in.

Abby in her new chair from great grandma and grandpa. It even reclines. Abby loves it. She can't get into by herself yet and that makes her mad. But she is working on it. Dad and uncle left today so it was quiet tonight. We have had some hot days so we keep outside activities down. We usually come in when Abby's face starts to turn red from getting hot. She is saying "up." She likes to say it when she gets up on the fireplace. And she is getting good at repeating tunes or sounds. Dad got her to howl and I am getting her to say "uh oh". We chased each other and the dog around the table tonight.

Here is Abby in her new dress from Grandma. We have alot happened since Dad got home. Grandpa and Dad installed a new swing and slide playground equipment. It is beautiful and Abby will get lots of use out of it. We had a big 4th of July celebration at our house. I think there was about 25 people with 9 being kids under the age of 8. Abby didn't like the fireworks. We have found her first fear. She is also waking up about an hour or so after she goes to bed. We haven't figured out if it is her molars, nightmares, or if she is scared of the dark. Maybe a combination of everything. Poor kid. Abby also had her first birthday. She wiped frosting all over her mouth and put some cake in her hair. We had Grandpa and Grandma down to entertain and we went to the Cardinal's game. Abby's name went on the board saying she was 1 year old. Thanks to Dad. Abby enjoyed going up and down the handicap ramp. I would say she went up and down it at least 100 times. She also only had a hour and half of naps that day and was up until 10:30 pm. She wanted to be up for her birthday. Dad and I then painted Abby's room a "Softer Tan" and I put up a teddy bear border where the bear are catching bugs. The room turned out really good and I like it. Abby didn't really say whether she liked it or not just enjoyed going around her furniture in the middle of the room. I think that brings us to this week. Abby's uncle came home and she likes getting his attention. New words are "doe" meaning no or don't and "da p" meaning the pup. My mistake for always calling Yukon, "The puppy."
