The Life of Abby

Abby has learned how to hit the toy to make the music sound. It was pretty funny to watch her concentrate at it. We have been cold here. Our high for the next week is supposed to be 30. So much for hoping the sun was going to melt the ice in front of the house. It is even snowing right now. I don't believe global warming is a problem this year. Abby was in a good mood today. She got to try a bitter biscuit and I guess she had it all over herself as well as in her hair. So she got a bath at the sitter and she liked that too.

Thought I would put a picture of Abby with all her hair. She is even getting bed hair in the morning. It is so cute. I enjoyed my birthday. Thank you for the gifts and wishes sent my way. Abby and I went shopping yesterday. We didn't get to carried away though. She is now saying "da da da da". She seems to be changing all the time now. She had cut her lip by slamming her face on the hardwood floors. I guess those bumps are to be expected. She is back to being in a good mood again since her cold is gone. And thankfully she is done with her antibiotics. I had it spit back in my face every time. I tried giving her some mashed banana pieces yesterday but she just ended up mashing them on the tray. Oh well.

I love how this photo shows Abby in mid laugh. She is a character. Things she is starting to do. She is grinding her teeth which is a horrible sound. Hope she will get over that soon. She is also starting to bear crawl. Now she can move forward. Watch out world, here comes Abby. She was in an excellent mood all evening. That mobility sure helps. She had supper in her diaper tonight. It made for an easy cleanup. She seemed to enjoy it as well.

Abby was in a pretty good mood today. I see that as a good sign that she is getting better. She is still snoring at night but not all the time. She tried some papaya today but preferred the bananas instead. I have to watch her with the cheerios. She puts too many into her mouth at once and then is either coughing on them or trying to figure out how to move that many around her mouth. Crazy kid.

We had another 5 inches of snow. Abby went and played in it a little. As much as a baby can anyways. Well she just took a two minute nap better go get her.

Well we made it through the week. Abby seems to be doing better. She is still congested but her mood is a lot better. Back to smiling, gibbering and moving all over the place. We went up to Toys R Us today and then stopped and got some Olive Garden to take home. Yummm! Abby tried pureed beef today. I can't tell if she liked it or not. Maybe it's better the second time. They are talking about us having snow again. They say 4 to 6 inches tonight. We went to Walmart earlier in the week just in case we got snowed in again. Are you sure we aren't living in Alaska? Actually I was less snowed in up there than down here. Oh well.

Abby got sick again this week. She was running a fever on Monday. I took her to the doctor's on Tuesday and she had another ear infection. Poor little thing. She has had some nose congestion so she has been snoring at night. Good thing I can tune that out because of her dad. The picture shows the first time I placed her again the table. I think she enjoyed being able to reach the items on the table. Abby is rocking on all fours. I think she is ready to crawl.

Abby and I are still waiting out the ice storm. I'm glad it fell on a three day weekend. I still don't have much time build up so don't like to use it because of weather. Abby is sleeping in this morning. I guess it's because she didn't go to bed until after 9 pm. I think she got too many naps yesterday. Not much else going on.

Tooth #4 is in. Abby and I will be inside this extended weekend. We have sleeting and freezing rain and maybe even snow on Sunday. It is getting cold outside and that is only making it worse. Hopefully I can still get her pictures done on Monday. I have booked my ticket to the Pacific Northwest. We are off to see the relatives in February. I am so excited. I can't wait for Abby to meet Oscar. Abby has been getting up on all fours. She has been holding the position pretty good so wonder if she'll start rocking and then crawling. She was laughing today as I played with Yukon. Strange things sure make her laugh.

Here is Abby's new favorite. She loves to play with those feet and be naked. We made a trip to Walgreens, Wendy's and a quick visit to Steph's. Not too much else. Abby really seemed to be enjoying playing at the sitter's today. She was talking away and waving those arms about.

Today Abby's third tooth came in. We have been trying her out on Cheerios. She was finally figuring out how to get them to her mouth today. It was just like playing air hockey with the Cheerios for a little while. We both seem to be back to normal with no illness so that is good. Dad made it back to work ok. Abby is getting her 6 month pictures taken next month and then her shots on Wednesday. It should be a busy week.

Well we tried to enjoy our week together as a family. Only I came down with the stomach bug. That had me on the couch for the most part of Tuesday. Abby was wondering why I wouldn't play and was just laying around. Poor thing. I felt a little better on Wednesday so I went to work. Once I got there I didn't feel so good but stuck it out. I don't have any vacation or sick leave. Matt was able to get some things done around the house. He wanted to go hunting but it got rainy when he was able to go. My stomach is finally back to normal today. I can eat meals without it feeling like my stomach is cramping up.
We can see the whites of one of Abby's top teeth coming in. I figure it will break through the week of her shots like the last ones. Abby's new thing is to lean in and give her dad a kiss when he asks for it. It is pretty cool. She can scoot backwards pretty good. She is doing pushups with her dad. I measured her and she is 27 inches long. I am going to have to switch her to 12 months clothes. She also likes to squawk. I beginning to think I need to teach her "Shhhh." And at bath time she enjoys splashing and getting me all wet.
Dad goes back to work tomorrow so these will probably get more frequent again.

Now that I have some time I will write what has happened over the holidays for us. We had a big family get together at our house on Christmas. Matt's aunts and uncles and grandparents from his mom's side were all able to make it to our house. We even had plenty of food. And we got to put that big table to use. Becky and the kids headed up to her parents place for the week. Charles and Matt got some things done around the house. I think Abby even got overwhelmed with all her new toys. Well time to change the diaper. Happy New Year's!
