The Life of Abby

Abby got her gifts from Grandma today and you can see she likes them both. Abby has been enjoying eating cereals and is getting better at it. It doesn't make for pleasant diapers and I hear it just gets worse. Dad went back to work this morning. We have had some great weather the past week in the 70s but it's suppose to snow and get to the teens this week. Dad got motivated this weekend and we cleaned the basement out. It looks really good. Abby is also splashing the water at bathtime. She doesn't cry anymore with is good. She has been getting more bathes since she gets food everywhere when she eats. Dad says oatmeal is good for the skin.

I got a picture of those two teeth. If you click on the picture you might be able to see them. Abby is laughing at her Dad. Abby and I made a trip to the store today while Dad got some things done around the house. We are going to put up the xmas decorations tonight. We thought that would be entertaining for Abby.

Happy Thanksgiving to everyone! We enjoyed Thanksgiving dinner with Charles on Wednesday and then JB & Addie invited us to their place on Thanksgiving. We dropped Charles off at the airport and then went and had a great day with them. It has been busy around here with Charles' new place and getting everything taken care with it.
Abby got to try oatmeal yesterday. She seemed to really like it better than the rice. She is continuing to try and roll over to her front. She was a trooper today and made it to Target and Walmart for Black Friday sales at 5:30am. We got home by 8 and took a long nap.
Well I smell a dirty diaper so better go. Hee hee.

News from these parts is that Abby is quite the social kid. When we go out in public she likes to smile at anyone that will look at her. She has become very interested in petting the dog. She puts her hands together and tries to run her fingers through her hair. We have also started feeding her rice cereal. She doesn't quite know what to think of that. We had a good weekend at home.

I tried to get a picture of those two teeth but no luck. Abby got to try some rice cereal yesterday and today. Most of it came out. We are trying to learn how to eat. Now that the teeth are in she isn't fussy so that is good. She scared her Dad and I this morning. We heard a noise on the monitor and didn't know what it was coming from in her room. Dad went to check it out and she was playing with the toy fish aquarium we have attached to the crib. She has never played with it before so she had us really confused. Dad and Uncle Charles went to hunt up at the old stomping grounds so Abby and I will be hanging out together down here. We will probably try to get some errands run tomorrow.

I think we have a second tooth. I will have to wait until Abby is asleep to find out for sure. It has been a rainy and cold day. We are staying couped up inside. Yukon comes in with her wet cold nose to remind us what it is like outside. We've had some fussying but I don't know whether she is hungry, tired, hurting or just making noise. I think most of it is just making noise.

Abby's First Tooth

Abby has gotten her first tooth. She was fussy on Sunday and wanted to be held instead of put down for a nap. Matt finally said, "Does she have a tooth?" I felt in her mouth and there was something sharp in there. I was shocked. Abby and I went to the doctor's today for her 4 month well baby visit. She is 16 lbs. 15 oz. and 24 3/4 inches long. The doctor said she was pretty social. Abby was even laughing at the life size poster of Elvis on the wall. Uncle Charles is entertained by Abby as well.

Where did my week go? Dad came home on Wednesday. Thursday Uncle Charles came home. Friday Charles bought his place and Abby got her pictures taken. Today Abby and I went to Target and a candle party while Dad and Charles went hunting. They are now out shopping and getting supper while Abby and I rest at home. We did our running around so I guess now they can do theirs. Abby sure likes people. She did really good at the party and just talked to everyone from the floor. Abby has been trying to talk to the dog. Whenever we let Yukon in the house she starts talking but of course Yukon only gives her a bath in return. We have started putting Abby in 6-9 month clothes. She just keeps growing. She did really good for her pictures so I am excited to get those. Abby can turn herself in a circle. You lay her on the floor and next thing you know she is upside from where you laid her. Silly girl.

Today was a cool day. I think we had some rain but not while I was outside. At work we had our Thanksgiving Dinner. It was excellent with turkey and ham. Abby had a good day at the sitters after a fussy day yesterday. That is good. Abby is 4 months old today and I can't believe how time has flown by. Tomorrow is voting day and I look forward to the political ads being over. Dad will be home on Wednesday and Abby and I are looking forward to it.

Abby and I went and enjoyed Steak dinner last night. They had an auction for baked goods. Abby was entertained by all of it. She sure likes crowded places. Guess she gets that from her mom. Today we are just hanging out at home. Abby was a little fussy this morning but just wanted to take an extra nap. No problem. We'll probably bundle up and take a walk this afternoon. And we need to get the house ready for Dad and Uncle Charles to come back. What an exciting week this will be.

Muranda said that Abby had a really good day yesterday. We got some things done around the house last night. Today we have gotten paperwork done, laundry, grocery shopping and just need to clean house and have fun. We are going to a fundraiser tonight. It is a steak dinner for Relay for Life. They say it is charity to eat steak dinner. OK I am there. I will also get to see Jessie and her family. Well I here the little one waking up. The picture shows one of Yukon's calmer moments. She is not running around the house or licking the baby.

Well I finally got a good night's sleep last night. I think I can see the end to being sick. Abby finished up her antibiotics today and has been doing good. She seems to really enjoy the kids at the sitter's. She was all smiles today as they were hugging her. Abby is still sucking her thumb all the time. She likes to roll on her side and suck on the thumb. I think she is trying to put herself to sleep. Things are good here. I have told myself that we are staying home this weekend so I can get all the way better before Dad comes home and get some grocery shopping done.
